Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (Saturday, February 13th)

Shows: Adam, Prabal Gurung, Arise Magazine (African Collective)

I felt mesmerized at the Adam show... The chunky knits would be great for day or night.
Loose hair and fishtail braids were a featured trend. Big chunky knit scarves hung from the models' necks.
Red, black, and army green were the colors shown for fall.
During Prabal Gurung, the audience expressed their love of the collection and was quite vocal about their favorite pieces. I loved one of the jackets that had a hood with two industrial zippers. Black, white, and beige were accented with pops of color. There was grey fur and more glitz. The shapes and silhouettes were geometric looking. Makeup was very minimal, except for red lips.

At Arise Magazine's show we finally saw diversity on the catwalk. Models of every color wore every hue. Big quilted coats with heavy fabrics amazed the audience and oohs and aahs filled the room. Layers seemed to be a growing trend. Each outfit was completed by layering additional material. The models looked comfortable and cozy. The collection very much looked inspired by Africa.
