WeKnow.TV does Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
The picture above shows WeKnow.TV backstage after The Blonds show at the Altman Building, New York, Tuesday, Feb. 16. Tracey and Rose were interviewing David Blond, one of label’s two designers. The Blonds had just put on what Jay Manuel, photo director for “America’s Next Top Model,” told me was “probably one of the thrills of the week” for the Fall 2010 season. Fast forward to today, Friday, Feb. 19, and we’re all both tired and geared up after checking out end-of-event after-parties last night. (I was at Bryant Park's after-party. It was amazing. Stay tuned for pics and a review).
I’d say for those of us who work at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week or cover it for the media, taking part in the eight-day event is like participating in a round-the-clock dance marathon. We’re mostly on our feet, stepping, gliding, moving to the rhythm. We take short breaks. And too soon we’re up and at it again.
In some ways, “doing” Fashion Week also is similar to taking part in the Olympics, whether as a competitor, coach, staff or member of the news media. It takes a lot of drive and stamina. Each designer is “going for the gold.” During Fashion Week, WeKnow.TV aimed to give you winning coverage. Look here in the next few days to weeks as we review the best of the after-parties and shows, including Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, The Blonds, threeASFOUR, Yeohlee, Tadashi Shoji and more.
