Ports 1961 Fall 2010

The Ports 1961 Fall 2010 showcase in Bryant Park made you feel ready for anything! Models walked briskly to the music and I fell in love with all of the headgear. Blacks and golds made me dream of riches in faraway lands. The girls had strong faces, but makeup was barely there. Hair was big and fierce, sort-of warrior-like. Gloves and jewelry completed each outfit.
After the show we went backstage and actually got to meet and interview the talented designer behind Ports 1961, Tia Cibani. She designed her Fall collection with keeping the relationship between discovery and invention in mind while venturing into a world that is rooted in the past and that still reaches the future. The collection ties past and present together and the wearer is ready for a journey, wherever it may take her.
