Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Tuesday. That makes Day 6 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Did you realize other fashion events are going on at the same time -- like The Green Shows: Eco Fashion Week, a series of fashion shows by environmentally conscious, green designers?
Samantha Pleet’s presentation (photo above) was the final show of the event’s three-day run. Pleet’s garments are made mainly of organic materials in New York. Reps from Luna (yummy food bars), Vita Coco (coconut water drinks), Sprout (really cute “eco-friendly” time pieces), “A Lot to Say” message apparel and lifestyle products, and The Sway (impeccably made handbags constructed of re-used leather and leather scraps) were on hand throughout Eco Fashion Week. Some offered samples. Fair vodka provided free drinks at Pleet’s after-party. (Have you tried vodka, seltzer water, cucumber and lime? Not bad). Falafel balls (premade and prepackaged by The Falafel Republic) were served at other Green Show events. We’re always hungry and thirsty for more after attending fashion shows. And we even got to take home free mini Luna bars!
