IMG and FDCC Promote Toronto’s Fashion Week

IMG announced recently that it’s teaming with the Fashion Design Council of Canada (FDCC) to expand their relationship and promote Toronto’s LG Fashion Week Beauty by L'Oréal Paris. (The photo shows the runway from LG Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011).

According to an IMG press release: The first event under this expanded arrangement will be the 2011 Fall/Winter Collections in March 2011. The relationship will have IMG work under the direction of the FDCC to develop programs to support Canadian talent both in the country and throughout IMG's network of fashion events globally.

IMG Fashion, which currently produces and represents the world's leading fashion events along with the FDCC, will create an international platform for designers to showcase their talents. IMG and the FDCC's primary objectives will be supporting a strategic international communications program, expanding the opportunities for interaction with the industry at LG Fashion Week Beauty by L'Oréal Paris, creating new opportunities for designers and elevating the FDCC and its council's role in the global fashion landscape.

Robin Kay is president of the FDCC. Ms. Kay initiated Toronto’s Fashion Week in 1999 in conjunction with the FDCC (formerly known as the Ontario Designers Association), which currently produces the largest fashion event in Canada. The 23rd LG Fashion Week Beauty by L'Oréal Paris season (Spring/Summer 2011) kicked off Oct.18, 2010 and featured over 30 presentations representing more than 60 designers and talent from British Columbia, Winnipeg, Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto and more.
