Shoes, Handbags and Accessories For Now and in Spring

I didn’t realize until I was in the “pits” (risers at the end of the runway where photographers stand) during fashion week that some photographers only shot “details” (the term for shoes, handbags, hats, accessories, and jewelry). And as you know, the details quite often complete a look. Here are labels/designers to watch:

The Sway: These bags are versatile, comfortable to carry (made in buttery-soft leather), environmentally conscious (constructed mainly of leather scraps) and stylish, too! Featured at New York’s The Green Shows: Eco Fashion Week. (A popular The Sway bag style is shown).

Bootzswalla: These footless leather knee- and thigh-highs transform any shoes into boots. Designer Lori Seliger also creates fingerless leather gloves and other accessories.

Walter Steiger: This high-end shoe company (with a store on New York’s Fifth Avenue) shod models for both the Richie Rich and LaQuan Smith fashion shows during New York’s spring/summer 2011 fashion week and also is the shoe vendor of choice for Akris in Paris.
