NYC Twestival March 25 is a Real Tweet

New York’s Twestival was just one of many Twitter fund-raisers held around the world March 25. The Manhattan event drew more than 300 people to Good Units, below the Hudson Hotel on West 58th Street late that night. Organizers said they raised more than $20,000 for Concern Worldwide, a nonprofit organization, which works to eliminate poverty in the world's poorest countries. Globally, Twestivals took in an estimated $309,254, as of March 30.

Twitterers worldwide host two Twestival fund-raisers per year. In addition to helping Concern Worldwide, NYC Twestival helped attendees network and meet (in person) others who tweet. Co-organizer Leslie Richin, of Low Maintenance PR, said she'd like to help organize the next Twestival, which will be held in the fall. You can follow both @WeKnowTV and @NYCTwestival on Twitter.
