The We Know TV crew descended on Miami Beach for the 2011 Mercedes-Benz Swim Fashion Week. All venues are held at The Raleigh Hotel; conveniently located in the heart of Miami Beach on Collins Avenue. Three separate runways have been constructed on the property of The Raleigh Hotel: Cabana Grande, Oasis, and Pool Deck. Expectations are high with several top designers preparing to showcase the looks and styles of the 2011 beach season.
IMG is overseeing the operations, which are sure to be of the highest precision. Security is extremely strict, with the well being of all individuals in attendance remaining a top priority. All media personal are instructed to carry a photo identification pass that is provided in order to attend the shows and after-parties.
The first show to launch us off is of California based designer Trina Turk. We Know TV was given special access to visit the preparations occurring backstage before the show. Models endure a strenuous ordeal of their hair and makeup process. Several artists assist in the collaboration of each look for the evening. Even as tensions build with deadlines nearing, these professionals remain calm and provide the necessary applications that Trina Turk desires.
When the show was ready to begin, We Know TV proceeded to the media section of Cabana Grande to capture all of the models on the runway.
Once all of the designs were revealed, We Know TV returned backstage to interview Trina Turk and her production team. All in attendance were praising the successful show they were privileged to witness. The collection by Trina Turk is sure to be a major influence in swimwear for 2011.
Immediately after, the Official Kick Off Party began at The Raleigh Hotel. Hundreds of fashion-goers gathered to sip on cocktails and reconnect for this year’s fashion week. DJ Jody McDonald provided the perfect setting with his blend of beats. When the party slowly concluded at The Raleigh, the night was still young for a continuation of the excitement. Partygoers could attend any of the numerous venues, either at The W Hotel, Setai Hotel, or any of the other fixtures of the Miami Beach nightline. One of the most hyped after-parties was at the Gansevoort Hotel, where We Know TV captured John Legend making a special appearance.
With just one night completed, the 2011 Swimwear Fashion Week already has the inclinations that it will out do the success of year’s past. We Know TV will continue to provide immediate reports with comments from designers, models, and all of those who are in Miami Beach. Stay tuned!
