New Beginnings at Saks 5th Avenue

"The saying is "We're going to Saks" but I like to say we're growing at Saks" - that is what accomplished designer Elie Tahari declared right before cutting the ribbon at the ceremony to open his new women's wear boutique at Saks 5th Avenue.

It was impossible to miss the level of respect held for the Israeli born designer as you stepped off the elevator, which opens just off the shop. Everyone was wearing "I heart ET" buttons and carrying small paper fans with the same logo. Six tall, young, European looking models, along with several people in the crowd, were also wearing white t-shirts emblazoned with the sentiment.

Mr. Tahari seemed genuinely pleased see and meet everyone in attendance and very excited for what the future holds between the brand and Saks 5th Avenue. Some of that excitement is probably partially due to the research the company conducted that showed that their best sales come from Saks stores and partially due to the sheer admiration that was visible from the man standing beside him during the ceremony - Saks' CEO Steve Sadove.

The new boutique is the first of many upgrades planned for the third floor of the iconic luxury department store. Soon to follow in Tahari's huge footsteps are names like Burberry. With such an elegant kickoff to the floors revamping I'm excited to see it continue!
