FIT Award Luncheon for Karl Lagerfeld nets $600K+

This is what the entrée looked like at a $1,000 a plate and up FIT luncheon today in New York during Fashion Week. The event at Avery Fisher Hall honored designer Karl Lagerfeld with the Couture Council Fashion Visionary Award and netted more than $600,000 of support for the Museum at FIT – making it the biggest fund-raiser to date, organizers said.

The menu included: red and white wine; appetizer: chopped vegetable timbale; entrée: roasted poussin with lemon herb mousse, au jus, sautéed baby summer squash, Thumbelina carrots, English peas and purple cauliflower; and dessert: strawberry shortcake over fresh strawberry carpaccio. Yum.
Celebs in attendance included Lagerfeld, Vogue editor Anna Wintour, stylist Rachel Zoe, actor Alan Cumming, heiress Daphne Guinness, and actress, model and TV personality Veronica Webb.
