Stylesight Runway Roadmap S/S 2011

Although winter is upon us, I am sure most are looking forward to the Spring/Summer season with enthusiasm. Not only are we thinking of warm weather, but also of what to wear. Here are some of the trends for Spring/Summer 2011, mapped out by Sharon Graubard, senior vice president of trend analysis at Stylesight , a fashion trend and forecasting company.
A. Studio Art: In this category, expect clean silhouettes in sturdy fabrics, like lovely leather. Menswear influence, such as dad’s shirts, will play a roll. Dimension and texture also are important, as well as arty references.

B. Moody Nature: Organic Shapes and imperfect fabrics and texture prints are paramount. Soft colors, slim shady jackets and a play on positive and negative set the style.

C. Soft Grunge: Pretty hippie, boys club, delicate dolls are just some of the depictions for this look. Tea time sweaters and knits with soft feminine allure are essential. Woven tops and soft tweedy jackets make up this disheveled look, symbolizing the reclaiming of the 90s grunge.

D. Practical Dreamer: Timeless silhouettes and the idea of layering are imperative. Dance inspired pieces, and ethnic interpretations of garments will be portrayed.

E. Bongo Bakongo: Expressions of Africa, multi patterns and adornments are influential. Sarong skirts, khaki and easy rider pants are all key items to have for this look.

F. Body and Soul: Activewear and sportswear combine. Roman inspired drapery and high performance fabrics. Classic leggings, jumpsuits and shapely body dresses are key items.

So whatever style or trend you choose to follow, without a doubt, Spring/Summer 2011 will definitely be the year to upgrade or change your look -- and become fashionably chic.
