Readers of the New York Times “Sunday Styles” section may be familiar with the feature: “On the Street,” which is a photo collage of stylishly dressed people (and sometimes their dogs). Each week there is a new theme, which photographer Bill Cunningham sees played out on the streets. It may be that everyone is wearing looped scarves or a certain color.
Cunningham and his “On the Streets” feature have inspired many photographers and fashion editors, too. Now there is a documentary about him, which took 10 years to make. Lucky me. I got tickets to tonight’s screening of “Bill Cunningham New York,” which opens the New Directors/New Films series at the Museum of Modern Art. My understanding is tickets are now sold out. I’ve searched the Internet and have not yet learned of upcoming screenings. But you can try. For more information, see: http://nyti.ms/9qLXlK
